Hi, i have been lookin for a 240 to do a rb swap and i cam across a 82 280z witch is in decent shape. no interior excet for the dash ect. has to have to wheels but is a chasis witch is perfect. my questions are will a rb25det fit and if so what about a rb26dett with and rb25 transmission to keep it rwd. another question is that he has a clean title and only wants 300 for it, good deal? safe call??

If the guy only wants 300 for it, it probably isn't a clean title. Carfax doesn't receive all the reports on a car, just most of them. I would inspect the underbody and strut towers, hatch area where the spare tire is kept, etc.

As for the rest of your questions, I'll leave that to the more knowledgeable members. Welcome to NICO! :mike Got any pics of your current car? We LOVE pics. :D

i'm almost positive that an rb26dett would fit in the Z, i had a 280zx myself and there is tons of room under the hood, Anything should fit with a little modification

it will fit very nicely. You could probably run the clutch fan if you wanted.

My question:

If you're searching for a 240sx, why would you move to a 280z? It's nowhere near the same thing.
