gaskets would be a good idea, same with cooling (water pump, thermostat), make sure oil pan is not dented, change your fuel filter/ invest in a new fuel pump, and just do a overall inspection of the motor...

if you have the funds a complete rebuild would be the best plan

and atleast clean and even paint your engine bay...

im sure im missing some, buts thats all off the top of my head

Ok cool. What if the compression test and leakdown are all good. wont a rebuild be sort of pointless?

well it all depends on your goals for the swap, what are your hp goals?

but a cylinder compression/ leakdown test would be essential before making the decision.

if your satisfied with a mild build ( i am for now ), then a current rebuild could be considered pointless

Alot of people say do clutch too, I didn't and I had to get a new one. I got it from the same place you're going to.
