I disconnected my battery and took out my ECM to have it repaired. I wanted to put the car back in the garage due to bad weather, but the car would not disengage out of park until I put the old ECM in and connected the battery. This is not a problem now, but if I get the ECM replaced and it has to be programmed by the dealer, will I be able to put it in neutral to get it out of the garage if it doesn't recognize the keys?

The NATS, when it detects a problem, will disable engine starting but will not prevent you from moving the shifter to NEUTRAL.
