Hey i got my HKS Hi Power exhaust and the police ain't loving it... size and now noise is a big issue. so i was wondering does putting in a silencer reduce the size of the exhaust in the eyes of the police in a legal stance?

Yeah i was looking at that but its also illegal to have a 4.5 inch tip...

So downgrade to a smaller coffee can. I think Maxwell House has a new one out that would work. Seriously though, what engine are you running that needs a 4.5" tip?

OP, if you want to get the silencer, go for it. It might cut it down to like 80-90ish dbls... but cops nowadays (at least my local cops) will pull you over if they see anything that doesn't look stock, regardless of how loud it is.

but silencers look goofy as hell in my book though. If you can't rock it w/o a silencer, its probably not worth rockin in the first place.

Yeah its all the guys fault who sold it to me... i wanted a smaller one but he was like ima order this for you cause your going to swap a sr in someday so it will work and its like 50 dollars cheaper.
