I have.

96 240sx se stock. excellent condition. 260xxx km

Can Crank Postion Sensor code trigger a Knock sensor code? Or vise versa?

Will it interact with the ecm to throw one another off?

the crank sensor only detects a misfire... The knock sensor could I guess cause that. Which codes do you have?

the knock sensors is harder to change but more likely the source of your problem. You'll need a new intake manifold gasket once you take the manifold off to get down to the knock sensor.

To change the crank sensor take the O2 senor wire bracket off to kit your arm in between the firewall and the engine. This will still take some contortionism on your part to loosen one ten millimeter bolt and some fancy finger work to get the cover and sensor out.

If you have both. Do both.

It can. Here is how. The cranksshaft is the only part on an engine, aside from the oilpan, that sits any lower than it does. What it does is keep track of the position of the sensor. The crankshaft, so everyone knows where im coming from, is the one that the rods are connected to, which had the piston sitting atop, which has the fuel sprayed and ignited on it. The knock sensor which is, if not sitting on the head somewhere, not too far from the piston. This lonley sensor listens for bounces or disturbances in the cylinder walls.

So if so someone (sensors) is getting mixed communications with another person, the computer will tell you that something is up and that you have to check this guy out as well as this guy

makes sense KGB thanks!

I guess best thing is to do is maybe change the crank position sensor first and see what happens... right? Since it is easier to get at...
