(bear with me I'm a newb when it comes to audio) I just got a new alpine deck with new 6.5 alpine 2-way speakers and when I turn up the volume high it sounds like theres someone holding an electric fan next to my speakers. It sounds faulty. What could be the issue. I assume that it shouldn't be like that b/c my audio is brand new. Considering that I spent quite a lot on it, that it shouldn't sound like that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you're turning the volume past 22 or so, the deck is being driven into clipping and you need to turn it down. If you want more volume, you need more power. When you get more power, you'll want a sub because the 6.5" speakers will not like playing bass.

Yes, but make sure it has an adjustable crossover so you can electronically remove the low bass frequencies from the 6.5" and tune the crossover to match the speakers capability. Also, you can look in the radio manual and see if it has a built in high pass filter (HPF) which would help until you get an amp but the lowest setting is 80Hz. I think all the 2008 model Alpine decks have crossovers.
