It's a really common upgrade we've done to simply add an amp and sub to an OEM system. It's especially easy if you use an amp that has high level inputs as you just get your signal directly from the rear speaker wires at the speakers. Run your power wire and a turn on lead (either an acc power or wire to a power antenna lead) and ground the amp as close to the amp as possible, wire up your sub and enjoy.

As for the fiberglass, you can likely find many tutorials online if you google it. On this forum there is one that should shed some light on the subject. I have some input on the thread but someone else started it. He build a custom molded enclosure/mount for an amplifier but pretty much the same methods would apply. My addition is for an enclosure for a single 8" sub and there are some photos of parts of the process.

Here's a link to the fiberglass tutorial on this site.zerothread/240404

Thanks. Can I hook an upgraded sub to the stock amp tho? (itl still be the same size) Im still planning how Im gonna set up the amp and sub in the trunk and was just lookin to replace the sub and speakers for the moment, also you wouldnt happin to know how to get the rear speaker covers off without breaking the pegs (I tryed this on the 91 maxima I used to have and ended up breaking them all off and spending 3 hours in a junk yard finding and trying to get some off 2 cars there )

Not sure about just replacing the sub and running it from the oem amp. You have to make sure the impedance (resistance) of the new one matches the oem one as the amp will most likely be matched for that resistance. If the OEM one is 8-12 ohms and you put a 4 ohm sub in its place the amp will most likely overheat and eventually blow.

Not to sure about the rear covers, are they behind a larger panel and you are trying to pry off the grill only? Most of the time you have to pull the whole panel off. Guess I am not 100% sure what your panels look like.

Its the grill only they dont have a panel over them. the speakers sit on the rear deck, Im guessing they form fit the capet around them and then cover them with a plastic grill. The main problem I have is that the passanger side cover also gos around the middle sholder belt and the drivers side cover has the carseat anchor built into it. I coulda made some fiberglass trim for the speakers if that wasn't the case, I robably still could but that would take up too much time messing around trying to get it to fit. (college take up what time work doesnt) I tryed to find a pic of the rear panel but I cant find any that are stock
