Question

I have a 1989 240sx. I recently purchased a VLSD which is suppose to be out of an S14. It came with the correct shafts. I did not receive thepumpkin. So I had to take out the stock "Non LSD" rearend and put the VLSD in. I followed the FSM step by step. However I have almost 1 1/2 inches of Backlash. What do i need to do to correct this? Or can this be corrected. I have the rearend at a mechanic right now who is telling me you cant shim it that much. So will this S14 VLSD work in my car like everyone is telling me or will it not. I cant get any of the local dealerships to even look at it.
