Yesterday where the light that says brake pads worn and it tells you if the door is open and also tells you if the fuel is low area went out and is not working. Sorry not sure what it is called. Anyways my assumption is that the problem is either a fuse or the light burnt out. Question is where is the fuse located and which one is it. Also how would I go about changing the light. I have a 1994. All of the other lights on the dash work perfectly that i have noticed. I need this light fixed a.s.a.p. it is my only way to know if the car is low on fuel as my fuel gage itself is not in working order. (broke that part while changing the fuel pump) oops.

ThanksKrystal

what do you mean behind the cluster? My thoughts are I have to take out the dash at least where the spedometer and all of that is. Is it just the 2 screws that are under the dash?

If the information center on your cluster is unfixable, I have a gauge cluster out of a 1991 Q45 which is 100% functional that I will sell you for cheeap.e-mail me if you need one.

The "cluster" is everything - the fuel gauge display, speedo, tach, temp, etc. Behind the "message center" are two bulbs. It appears these need to be replaced. It requires pulling the dash ... not a simple 30 minute project.

A few searches shouldl turn up some previous threads about dash removal.

You just have to pull the upper part, of the instrument thing, its not terribly complicated, but not terribly easy...

We are talking about the thing on the bottom left of the gauge right?

I had the same problem (if thats what we are talking about). The fuse is below you and to the left if you are in the driver seat, there is a cover next to the parking break and the lever to open the hood. Pull that out, it has a couple spare fuses (at least mine did) and a little plastic tool to remove fuses. The cover also tells you exactly what each fuse does

Wes as usual was right it was just the bulbs. If I shine a flash light on it I can still barely see what it says which is usually brake pads worn or low fuel lol. Anyone know the suze of bulbs and what all I need to change it. Gonna make the attempt on Sunday any information would definetely help.

An electronic copy of the Factory Service Manual (FSM) would come in handy right now. There's a great picture that explains it all. Look at Anaslak's signature for the link to a copy you can download. Do a search here on instrument cluster (removal) and you will find the info you need to do the job yourself. It starts with removing the trim around the shifter and then working your way up toward the instrument cluster.

The P/N for the bulb assembly is 24860-60U00 (might be a V), but you'll be waiting a few days to get them from our local dealers for $5.50/ea. Go to Radio Shack and get micro lamp #272-1092 (#7219) at 2 for $1.50. This is just the bulbs but it's very easy to wrap the legs around the plastic bulb holder and snip off the excess.
