Dear all:

Hi, currently my car is a 2008 Altima (L32) sedan, 2.5SL , Automatic CVT , 129000 miles.

My calculation could be wrong, but living on 87 octane in Texas, it gives me roughly 28 mpg commuting (30 mph - 70 mph on highway). This car was kept under my custody for an year.

Once in a while, one should get something crazy. Something performance, per se, VQ35 + Manual. But L32 V6 Altimas require PREMIUM GAS that scares me away. Until I find this:

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymake/Nissan2006.shtml

On the website shows L31 V6 Altimas only require REGULAR GASOLINE (87 octane), is that true?

Also, I am reading all kinds of comments on this generation V6 Altimas, both automatic and manual, some people say it gets 30 mpg on highway, 24 in city, is that real? Because on the government website it tells me 19 -mpg in city 25 mpg on highway.

L31 plastic trims interior and small items often fall off, according to other users.

What are your experiences? MPG, what gasoline, any problems? Thanks!

I average 17-18 in the city and have hit 35 mpg on highway before in my vq35de, It is only recommended for the 91 octane but I wouldn't recommend any less because I do notice knocks, loss of power, loss of mpg, but you can if you choose. But from what I recall, using any octane rated less can cause damage, somebody please correct me if i'm wrong.

Every l31 Altima I have owned have been durable, yeah you'll get some squeeks and such. But if you take care of the car, it will take care of you. Only issues I have had with the trim is the AC line will leak. Hope this helps.
