I have a 99 Infiniti I30 and there's this vent looking thing that I do not know of. Help would be much appreciated.

this is the place where your "automatic temperature control" senses the cabine temp. it is designed in such a way that a small amount of air atucally get "SUCKED" in whenever you turned on your vent.

There is actually a thermal resistor inside that senses the temp. i have seen there is a lot of PET hair and DUST got sucked in and totally covers the thermal resistor and that causes inaccurate temperature control.

I cleaned mine the other day and it looks like it had 13 years of crap on it. I used MAF sensor cleaner and it sparkles like new. Air gets much much colder now!
