Hello all, I'm new to the forum and have a question for those with a little more experience with Nissans than myself. I recently bought a 2000 Pathfinder with 240k on it, runs great but was throwing an EGR code. To get to the EGR i removed a bunch of stuff that was positioned over it, including the throttle body and throttle cables. I put everything back together, adjusted the throttle cable and did the idle relearn after every adjustment, and now its throwing a throttle position sensor code. My question is, what are the odds its the actual sensor, or do i just have the cable maladjusted, and how would I know for sure whether its one or the other? It seems to be idling fine (750rpms) but the shift points do feel a little erratic now and they didnt before. When I unplug the sensor, the idle surges for a few seconds than comes back down. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mind you this is a SWAG but it may just be cranky about having the sensor disconnected. Try clearing the codes with a scanner or by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes or so, and see if the code comes back or not.

I'm also pretty sure the throttle position sensor only comes into play when starting and idling.
