I have a 1995 Nissan 240SX. I currenty have a KA24DE engine that has no upgrades. My car has 204,000 miles on it and the engine has very little power. The valves leak oil, the timing chain is off, and the cylinder head needs machining. I want to get a used engine with low mileage. I would like something with more power. I considered getting a 300ZX engine or the Skyline engine, but those might have a bad effect on my handling. Is the SR20 a good replacement for my KA24DE? Do used SR20 engines usually come with the turbo included? Will I have to buy a lot of new parts for the SR20DET to be compatible with my car? If The turbo makes the engine swap a great deal more expensive and complicated, would I be better off getting an SR20 without a turbo? Lastly, does anyone have any websites that they reccomend for purchasing a low-mileage, used engine?

I'm also having trouble finding price quote for engines. I will only have about $1500 for the swap.

In my honest opinion, you need to do a bit of research on putting a SR20det into your 240 before even thinking of doing the swap. $1500 won't be enough for a strong running clean SR20det swap. Also you can't just turbo a NA SR20, the internals are built different and can't hold the boost. So research, research, research. In the mean time buy another Ka so you have the car to drive around if it's your daily, if not then save up for the SR20det and read.
