Hi all,Very happy I found this site. I am looking to buy a 2006 m45 with 80,000 miles. Its fully loaded, advanced tech etc, the dealer has changed all the fluids, turned rotors, new front break pads, tires in excellent shape. the purchase price is $19,100.No warranty, I would have to buy an extended one. Should I buy it? The car has a clean autocheck, all maintenance has been done.Just wanted to hear some of your thoughts.many thanks, paul

It is really your preference on the buy. If the high mileage and the condition of the car is fine for you, then go for it. I would at least try to haggle the price down though. Definitely place the extended warranty on the car. A high mileage car like this needs an extended warranty. Repairs could get expensive if you don't get it. If all else, look for some other 06' M45's with lower mileage. You should be able to pick one up with lower miles for around that price.Either way, get the extended warranty on whatever used M you buy.Good luck.

prince seems a little high to me for the mileage, but I haven't looked at M45's lately. Definately get the extended warranty. search on here for warranty and read about the infiniti elite. Good luck

it will vary based on where you live, but according to KBB, the dealer has somewhere between $13K and $16 in this car. You should be able to buy it for $17K easily.

A quic search of AutoTader netted prices from $20,000 and up -- and several of the $20K cars had 35 - 40K miles. ADD another 40K miles and there is easily a $3K or more mileage penalty. Options play a roll, but mileage is KING as far as impact on selling this.

Check with Infiniti to confirm you CAN buy the Elite extended warranty -- and for how long... don't waste your time with other non-factory waranties unless you are a good trial lawyer and want to practice your skill sets.

I did this same search for the last 2 months.

You can DEFINETLY get a car in the low 20's for under 45k miles. If I were you, I would try to find one under 60k still in warranty. That will give you piece of mind that it's not broken or if anything is wrong, it can be fixed.

The only thing I cared about was that it had under 55k so I could at least make one good visit to the dealer and cover anything not right.

You can definetly find a good one out there. EBAY will give you a good indication of how low dealers are willing to go

Hello,That is way too many miles. For literally a few thousand more, you could have one with half the miles.Furthermore, I am pretty sure you can only add the Elite Warranty while still under the original factory warranty.Seeing that you are in the Atlanta Metro, it should be fairly easy to find a lower mileage example. Also, Florida is an excellent market for used cars and a daytrip away.

Just a correction on Marks post -- you CAN add the Elite waranty on cars outside the factory warranty period - I just did so with my 2003 M45 with only 38K miles -- but that may be the KEY - your miles. You may only be able to bump this to 100K total, and the cost for that 20K miles of warranty might exceed $2K in cost - so add that in to the "purchase price" decision. Check the posts here for warranty and read them - there is contact information for Courtney/Scottsdale Infiniti and they seem to be the low cost provider of Elite warranties right now.

Hi chiro,

I see you're from Marietta. Infiniti of Gwinnett in Duluth has 2 fully loaded 2006 M45's on the lot for sale, both with under 30K miles on them. They're asking $25-27K for them. Don't know if you want to check them out, but they may even have some of the factory warranty left on them depending on when they were first delivered.

Hello,Strange. I just got off the phone with my service writer at Coast Infiniti who told me only can it be added while under the original warranty. Is there any chance that your car's in service date is such that it WAS under warranty when adding it? Or, perhaps were strings pulled?ML

Thanks for all the input. I am trying to sell my 97 landcruiser and my buyer backed out last min. I got them down to $18500. I tried calling Courtney but she was out today so I will speak to her mon. I was trying to keep my cost in the low 20's. I saw the m45s in gwinette, but thanks. I don't want to trade my landcruiser in b/c of the bath I will take on it. (anyone want a nice truck lol)thanks for all the help,I have owned a few infinitis in the past and know they are quite reliable so I am on the fence about the extended warranty. I would love to find one still under factory, I might just have to wait a little while. How is the upkeep on these cars, I know about tires and breaks, I only drive about 10k per year so I will not be racking up those miles. If you want to see the car I am looking at let me know, but dont outbid me lolthanks all

You can find one around $22K with around 40K miles on it all day. You might have to travel for it tho. Few more grand for less miles is well worth it. Thats alot of miles. Was it a rental or company car for travel? We had to go 200 miles to find a low mileage one and compared to the high mileage ones we drove in our area it was well worth the time and money. Search the online ad sites. Couple of weeks ago we saw several in your area with 30-50K miles on them for around $22-$24k

Mark -- it's the finance folks that sell these; I'm not sure the service writers have a clue -- my service writer also told me there was a 30 day grace period before I could use it; wrong - it says right on the contract that the Elite Warranty is in effect the day you buy it - I had to show her before she'd write me up for R&R on the trunk struts.

My in service date was 1/2004, so I was out of warranty (on months, not on miles) for a full year before I bought it. I decided to keep the M for at least another year or two, hence pulling the trigger on the warranty now.

Here is one with a tad under 30K for $23,995. From my experience, the dealer in question will sharpen his pencil on that as well.

WHOA!! That is too much money and the car has waay too many miles for a 2006. Here are Manheim Auction Prices for a 2006 M45 w/ 80k miles.Average: $14,450 Below Avg: $11,550 "Clean" classification does not apply to such high mileage vehicle.

IMHO, I would keep searching for something better.

My service advisor also has told me that the Elite can only be added while under factory warranty but he is also the same guy that told me that my cell phone still charges when the car is shut off.

So, in other words I have caught the guy in a lie before.

As people have said, you can do a lot better than that deal.

I actually think what I have written is correct. You cannot add the Elite warranty once out of the factory warranty. Most other manufacturers have the same stipulation.
