I have a infiniti g35 coupe automatic and I'm hearing like a scraping or a metal sound whenver I push on the gas slowly to take off or when i"m backing out and put my car into drive and go that's when I hear the noise and then it goes away. Whenever I have someone in the car with me to listen to the noice of course it doesnt happen.

I just got new rims and tires put on and they did have to replace one of the left bushings cause it was cracked and I thougt that was my noise I was hearing but not the case. I had my breaks checked but the mechanic said I still have quite a bit left. I don't hear any scraping or metal sound when I apply the breaks. No one can seem to find the problem. If anyone has any suggestions on what it may be your input would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks
Rhonda

What size and offset are you new wheels & tires? Maybe you're rubbing bad...

Have your mechanic check out the heat shields. They can rust out and start to vibrate. It might sound to some like a metallic grinding noise.

Thanks for the reply. It's not a rubbing noise. I actually took care of that problem. When I bought the car from the delearship in March the car had been lowered and had 20 inch rims, tire size for front was 245/35 zr 20 95 w and rear 275/30 z20 97 width they were low profile tires with hardly any tread which made it a very hard ruff ride.

About 4 weeks later I had my mechanic raise it back up with the original stock springs he also had to put new struts and shocks on them. I have new 18 inch rims with front 245/45 18 rear 275/40 18. I also had to have the left bushing replaced because it was cracked. It's more of a scraping/ metal noise. :tisk:

Thank you for your response. I will do that. As you can see from my last reply to the other persons response It's been frustating for me with these issues at hand. That's exactly what I hear. It does it off and on every day.
