now that I drove 225/50/15 all around for abotu 2 weeks now, I can say that iit's kind of cool.

I noticed that the traction has increased, I can go faster on turns at speed I was in fear of before when running 205/55/15 on the same make/model of tires. However, at the same time, it feels that the car is harder to turn now... kind of confusing, is that why people run staggered setup where the front is thinner than the rear?

Yep. Ss front tires get wider, they get harder to turn. Besides for that, having the same width tire all around results in understeer for some people, not all though, and I'm not talking just 240 specifically. If you still have your old tires try running them up front and see how you like it.

narrower tires up front will definitely increase understeer(but it will be easier to steer, and staggering is not really neccesary unless you have a lot of power in the first place.

I am told you should not run anything highter than 205's. 225's have a tendancy to rub in tight turns or something?

just take out the fender lining and then rubbing is a matter of offset not width, up to a certain point of course, like 245 maybe, and anyways, a little fender rubbing never hurt anyone.

225s will rollover. It'll cause understeer during the turn since the tire will rollover and actually be riding on the sidewall.

K, lemme rephrase. 225s on stock rims will rollover. However, if the rim is widerthat around 7 inches, then the sidewall wont be as thick and there shouldnt be any rollover.

what's roll over? is that like cingular roll over minute?

anyways, I have 15x7 wheels with around +15 offset, it rubs the inner fender lining when I turn all the way. The rub is insignificant, just barely a touch

Rollover is where the tire actually rolls over, the edge of it... Anyways, wide tires are the single most overrated hyped topic on this board.

Loveless, I have 15x7.5 +20 offset wheels and Im running 195/60/15s on em. Good bit of oversteer, and still plenty of grips around the turn... plus I only have a KA so theres no point in some big tire.
