Can't find what i was looking for in the searches..

My 2.5 is 1 month old and a bit dirty. There's a car wash near my place where u can self wash the car with a hose and pressurized nozzle etc.. or the automated one with waxing also.

i do not want to do an automated car wash for risk of swirl marks, and i think i don't need to wax and polish the car yet.. gonna wait till like june or july.. plus i gotta do more research and chk out the porter orbital buffer...

So pretty much all i wanna do now is wash the car.. is that the right move, or shld i do wash, polish, wax all together..

And if i can just wash it, is this self hosing down wash (includes soapy wash, and water only) fine.. Don't have the products to do it at mi place, nor do i kno what i need (i.e. microfiber cloths?)

What would be my best choice for washing it.. Appreciate the responses.. mi girl is coming back from the West Indies tommo and i wanna make it look good when i surprise her.. thx again

it's only 1 month old, a wash is fine, just don't put it thru the automated wash unless it's a touchless one

im not gonna put it in the automated.. i don't think there are touchless ones 'round mi place..

at that same car wash, there is a garage kinda place.. where u can "rent" the hose and put quarters in and it'll give you soapy water thru the hose and clean reg. water after.. and it's pressurized.. so i guess ima do that..

I don't have the products yet.. and i don't know what i need to get.. got any info on that, it's appreciated.. (i kno i gotta pick up microfiber wipes.. but that's for polishing and waxing only, no?)

For washing i was gonna just soap it up, wash it off and let it all air dry out when i cruise back to mi house

First of all you havent washed your car in a month? wow, i was my car once if not two times a week, i dont like my black car looking dirty. If you use a do it yourself type car wash i would not use the brush they have there to wash it. They often have dirt and grim imbedded in them which can scratch ur paint up. Go buy a microfiber wash mit and use that. Also to dry the car they have waffled microfiber towels to dry cars with. these work great and do not leave lint on the car and do not scratch the paint. Also i waxed my car the first week i got it to put a nice shine and to make sure the car was protected. If you want to wash at you house, which i only do, i would suggest the following.you need a bucket and a hose of course, car wash (do not use dish shop it takes off the wax), a microfiber wash mit, microfiber drying towles, tire shine, glass cleaner and wheel cleaner. Then of course all the other stuff for the interior. Hope that helps

Scott, that def. helps, thanks alot man!!

Yea havent' washed it since i got it, but hey weather is better ova here than in AZ, atleast i think so.

At the car wash place, i was thinkin about just using the pressurized hoses to wash off the gunk and dust from the car and drying it by driving it around.

but ur way is much better (and negatively: time consuming), don't have the products yet or cash either, but i def will do this.. prolly in june, along with the polish and wax too

thanks alot man, really appreciate it, and if there's anything extra that would be a good recommendation, anyone... please post.

You have to dry it off with a towel. If you jsut drive it around your car will look horrible and ahve water spots all over it. Invest in a microfiber towel to dry it, it is worth it to!! If not atleast use something to dry it not jsut driving around

after a few months you might need to use a claybar depending on how many water spots you got...
