I hear lots of ppl say if I gut my cat, I will lose torque. But torque is the "force that tends to rotate or turn things". And it also says

"The combustion of gas in the cylinder creates pressure against the piston. That pressure creates a force on the piston that pushes it down. The force is transmitted from the piston to the connecting rod, and from the connecting rod into the crankshaft."

So that means a very potent gas will create more torque then say regular gas, since it will create a greater cumbustion/pressure against the piston.

And does that also mean that a exhaust w/ no cat will have more torque since it is creating less pressure flowing the opposite direction of the spinning of the crank?:thinker

Like a production line, with less conjestion you can get more of the product in and out. So w/ a gutted cat I can get more gas in and out faster while giving more power + torque?:thinker

err that sounds funny. If you need it explained better, Ill try.

Sorry for the chaotic post

Thanks

You will lose low end torque which is supported somewhat by backpressure.

if you just gut the cat you will loose torque, and it will make a really annoying sound, but if you gut it and then weld in a strait pipe through it you will have less restriction and more power without loosing torqe.
