Does anyone know if the stock audio unit has a security code? I just purchased a slightly used 350Z and they tell me that the battery unit will be disconnected before shipping. So once it arrives they will re-hook the battery. Since it will be out of power, the radio may need a security code if it does require it but I am not sure. Please let me know.

Thanks a million.

So..I guess everyone is recommending aftermarket audio? Wow..THANKS A MILLION. I thought Bose was good based on my past experiences. Thanks! the guy was selling me the unit for $150 + another $200 for the speakers. I thought it was a great deal. Let me know if it isn't.

I guess that is a good deal if that is what you really want. If I were you, I'd get a nice double din head unit, like an Alpine or something. You can add bluetooth to it and GPS, pretty much anything you want. It costs alot more, but, Bose really does suck. I had an '03 I35 with the factory Bose and the CD player skipped, the sound was all bass-no highs or mids, it just sounded muddy. That's just my opinion though. I plan on installing a double din Alpine myself, probably gonna wait til Christmas to do it.

DO NOT -----DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT GO WITH BOOOOOOOOOSE!!!!

Spend the $300 on aftermarket stuff.

You can get MP3/CD stereo for around 120-150 and then upgrade the front and the "worlds worst" rear OEM speakers for another 150...

Take a look at Crutchfield.com for lots of options...

Circuit city almost always has free installs on decks $100 and up...

Best of luck ;-)

If you really want the OEM deck - mine is up on Ebay for $99.99 and my reserve is only $60.00.
