Ok so im looking to buy an ebay exhaust. dont flame me because i have a ka24e and im going sr20 this summer but i have about a 2 inch hole in my stock exhaust right now so im just looking for something to get me by.

My question is. Most exhausts on ebay are 3 inch inlet. I recall somewhere that 3 inch on an n/a motor can be bad and possibly lose power in the higher end. Ideally i would like to have 2.5inch but like i said almost all are 3 inch cat backs.

Edit** s*** im sorry about exHaust. Im going back to grade 2 to learn how to spell

i had the apexi knock off dual exhaust and it was 2.5 inlet and 3 tip..

it was $250 shipped..

but if your going sr you might as well get the 3' to save you money in the future.

You will have no issue with a 3 inch exhaust on a NA, it may be a little louder but it will not affect the performance of your car.

I have a 3" egay on my single slammer. Previous owner put a silencer on it but its still kind of loud. Doesn't sound bad though, sounds almost just like my megan. This is with stock headers though.

Get a 2.5" unless you plan on making big numbers. Unless you like the extra noise and scraping.

yeah i found a 2.5" for 89 bucks not shipped. pretty good deal. its nothing special but it will definetly sound better than my exhaust right now. sounds like a really long high pitched fart. But thanks for the input everyone.

I actually noticed when i didnt have the whole in my exhaust i had more power at higher rpms. now that there's a huge hole in my muffler/pre muffler/ resonator, i have lost that power. either way a new exhaust should fix this and sound a lot better.

thanks again

With a 3" pipe you will most likely lose LOW end torque/hp but gain some on the high end. You'll notice once you hit the freeway.

There was a dyno chart somewhere many years ago showing the difference of a 2.5 and 3 inch on na ka's and the 3 inch made more power...now i don't remember what the powerband looked like but it's not gonna hurt especially because you plan on going essssaaarrrrrr in the future.

turbo's love the 3 inch exhaust and nawwws lots and lots of nawwwws. I just got through watching the fast and furious trilogy and then the new movie like ten times. Think I will out and pay 10 grand for a ka powered s14 with nawwws and lots of it.

just go with a good 3" and be done with it.if your worried about the sound spend money and get a HKS Hi-power those are pretty quiet on a KA. then once you get the SR it will sound better. and if you only have to buy 1 exhaust and not two you might as well buy 1 god one.

I don't care what everyone says, the ka loves 3". Go to K2Motor.com and get their catback. I think it is $199 w/ free shipping. I have a 95 240 with K2motor's catback with 3" piping and a 4" tip, and replaced the cat with a test pipe; sounds sick

with a header, 3" cat (err..) and 3" exhaust my car has no low end (<3k), got to rev it up. top end is awesome, pulls hard to redline. not sure what timing is but it's advanced a bit, still running stock airbox, too. lol

dc header +blitz realize tt sounds good

stock header, stock cat and full stainless nismo 3" catback sounded better (old car)

i don't like fart cans even though i had to raise the rear of my car so the muffler would stop dragging pulling into the garage. now the skid plate is the only thing that drags :D
