I was going to be ordering 20x9 rims with 255/50/20 tires, but they dont have a good deal there anymore. so i have another deal which is the same rims i want 20x9 with a 275/55/20 tire, now i know the 255/50/20 tire with rim would fit because jonathan prem has 22x9.5 and i think 275/35/22, im not sure on the 275 but im assuming thats it. anyways his ride is lowered 2 inches like mine too and he expiriences no rubbing.

so will the 55 series fit me fine ? also before i order any other things i should check. I know bolt pattern obv. and bore size are good.

Edit: so i measured my total stock rim which is the 16" with my current tire on it, and the total is 28.5 inch, i calculated that a 55 series tire is
2 1/4" plus 20" rim = 22 1/4" for my total size, will it be THAT much smaller?? Or am i calculating something wrong.

Please reply asap anyone as i am trying to order these tonight

The 275/55R20 tire will be almost 2" taller and close to "1 wider than the 255/50R20, so you may rub. All depends offset/backspacing of new rim.

The 275 is the width of the tire in millimeters (275mm). The 55 is the aspect ratio, eg. approximately 55% of the 275mm in height (151.25mm). Of course the R20 is the rims' diameter in inches.

ok thanks, i actually never really bought rims and stuff yet, i assumed the 55 was millimeters and not the percentage of the width. thanks for that insight. So it looks as the 55 series is out of the question cause i measured and they would be tucked in , i mean it would look slammed but going over bumps and s*** it would defiantly rub up top, so im gonna go with the 275/45/20 as in the calc you gave me comes up as .8 of an inch bigger in diameter than my 16's with the snow tires.
