I need to change my oil due to flooding caused my my body shop's recent mishap with water getting into the car during the previous week after a rain storm when the windshield was out. The ECU shorted out from water damage which put the ECU in fail safe and over richend the fuel amount going into the engine. I figured that I would change the oil again after another 500 miles once I get the replacement ECU installed so that it is drive-able. The main question is what weight of conventional oil should I use during the change interval. I regularly use Mobil1--0W40. The engine currently has over 235k on it. I just can't afford to use the synthetic oil for only 500 miles only to change it again. Especially now that I have had to resign from my job and now in search of another. I have the details as to what happened at the body shop on another post titled "Windshield replacement in a '90 Q" if you want to take a look.

Thanks,
Matt

5w-30,10w-30,5w-40,10w-40.....does not really matter much for short duration, especially during this mild time of year- get the cheapest one on sale.
