I have been waiting along time to get the funds together to do my ka-t build which should be complete in about 2-3 months depending on certain ways I decide to go.

Pretty much I planned on running a safc2 and enthalpy tune tuned for z32 mafams 780cc'sams gt3393 octane8.8 compression pistonslow boost 12psihigh boost 22psi

What I want to know is would 22psi be to much to run on 93 octane without having detonation or knock? I want to run at least about 20psi but dont know if that low of octane will allow me to without having and problems. I hear of people running more psi then that but I spoke with a guy earlier and he told me he couldnt go past 18psi without detonation occuring.

If you guys think this will be a problem what are some things I could do to prevent this?

Just incase here is the rest of my setup that I plan on running

Engine is together? This your DD? I wouldn't trust stock rods over 350rwhp which is under 22psi. probably around 15-16

I ran 19psi arias 8.8 pistons and stock rods at 19psi on 93 octane with enthalpy tune and safcDidn't use safc except for watching readings. It ran fine until HG went due to installer error. But in the short time it was running strong my car is now feared in my town. Wait till it's back on the road and then my vert appears muahahahaha

yup engine is together, like I said it has about 4600 miles on it. Im on stock rods but they have been cryo treated to hold up a little bit better. Pretty much I just want this motor to last me through this coming year and then I will start a full build on my spare motor. What would you say the stock rods would hold up to after being cryo treated?

I want to be somewhere in the 17-22 psi range, I guess 20psi would be a good limit for this motor. So lets say I will be running 20 psi max, think I will have no problems running the enthalpy and then im bringing it out to AMS to have them tune the fuel controller?

Oh yea and I will eventually be running v2 crower cams

Thats a pretty high level of boost for pump gas alone. While its been done, many people blow it way before then. I would say that you should go with a Meth injection setup if you want to run high boost levels. Better safe than sorry, meth injection owns.

Yea I figured that would be about pushing it on 93 octane but then I have seen guys pushing 25psi on their sr's on 93 all day with no problems....meth injection is defenitly something I would be interested in doing but didnt plan on it for a while. Turboing the ka is still a bit of a learning process for me so I dont want to get in over my head to much. Im thinking get everything together, bring the car out to ams and get it on the dyno and see how runs on higher boost levels on 93 octane and go from there.

You'll be fine on pump gas. Just be careful after each time you fill up in case you get bad gas.I'd be worried about stock rods at over 15psi I myself was running it daily at 19psi with a small boost spike, and one day I went to turn it down and it went up and was running probably 23psi and it was a blast. All on PUMP GAS with enthalpy ecu tune

How would I be able to check for bad gas...sputtering, miss fire or things of that sort? They are stock rods but have been cryo treated, what kind of power do you think they could hold up too safely?

Over 350rwhp...... could be good to over 600 could go bad at 375rwhp all depends on the material when made.Car will miss.
