The FSM shows an example of the ID Number Plate (under hood – attached to firewall):
R M L K S13 F U
R R=Fastback; ‘blank’=CoupeM M=KA24DE engineL L=Left Hand DriveK K=HICAS; ‘blank’=IRSS13F F=5 spd; A=4 spd autoU U=No California; V=Yes California; N=Canada
My ’94 240SX auto convertible’s ID Number is UML 964 AU
I guess U=Convertible. I don’t understand the 964, The A=Automatic, but the U definitely means NOT a California car.
So, why is my non-California car throwing an engine code 32, which is for the EGR malfunction on a California model??
Is this similar to the fact that I have to get ABS brake pads while my 240SX does not have ABS brakes??
