I have ~ 1,600 miles on my new Rogue and I decided to run it down to let the "low fuel light" come on.

When the light came on, the computer display immediately changed to the DTE display and started to blink. Initially it was at 51 miles...DTE. As it dropped down below 50, the DTE indicator went blank "-------------" but continued to blink.

Is this normal?

I suspected that it was since Nissan likely doesn't want a bunch of complaints on "Why did I run out of gas when the DTE said I still had 10 miles!!!"...and the like.

Thanks,Bill

Yes it is. Read page 2-7 of your owners manual:

Quote »The dte mode includes a low range warning feature. If the fuel level is low, the warning is displayed on the screen. When the fuel level drops even lower, the dte display will change to “——”.[/quote]
