Question on Idle after removing emissions..

I was hoping to find the best reponse here. After you guys removed EGR and such how was your idle? I plated off the intake manifold EGR side and welded off the exhaust manifold EGR and the IAV, so no leaks. Did I miss something?

My S14 idles beatifully with the egr blocked off (I dont have an aiv but supposedly even na guys who remove that don't have any problem).How is your bov setup is it recirculated or open atmoshphere?I remember that my idle was pretty crappy until i adjusted the diverter valve (recirculated) so that it would open at idle. That way the engine didn't have to suck through a slowly spinning compressor.

...it just dawned on me that you might not be turbo yet. Did you mess with the IAC at all, you still need that to maintain a proper idle?

No, it's not. This pre-turbo prep. Waiting on the bottom end rebuild to break in. I'm guessing I have a vacuum leak on the intake manifold, it idles like a biglock 464
