question on glow gauges

are glow gauges illegal? i only ask because i was with a buddy tonight and he was like "those glow gauges can get you a ticket man" i was like "bs, it's not external to the car and is not a distraction to other drivers (like ground fx neons) am i right or is he?i live in alabama if that makes any difference

Are you talking where the background glows? Thats how the 90-96 Qs are stock!

yea well i guess wes, i have pics on my cardomain page (page 4 i believe) with the gauges full blast, however i usually run them on a dimmer state

If I'm not mistaken I believe the Maxima used to have glow gauges, too, in the early to mid 90s models.

How tough is the install on those glow gauges .that website shows some for my J for only 35 bux !Ive put Blue LED in all the doors and would love a blue glow gauge setup .Gonna blue the clock out this weekend .

I'll let you know when I figure it out . hehe I have been using high output 12V led's for the rest of the cab .I realize the bezel is a bit greenish but I have a few tricks up my perverbial sleeve .

the wiring is relatively simple. the problem i had was triggering it to turn on with the headlamps. had a buddy from v&t performance help me install them after one set was sent faulty.

i suggest them as long as they are legal. i love mine to death!
