I'm getting married in April and I'm currently consider a single car for me and my future wife. I don't get to drive much since I joined the Army so I'm getting one for both of us. Also saves me money ^_^.

That means no more RX-8, 240SX, 2011 Mustang V6 for me. And no way I'm buying a SUV like she wants.

I'm down between 2005 5MT IS300 and G35 Sports 6MT Sedan. I know Lexus weights less, uses less gas, better stock handling and has less room inside.

What I want to know is how the G35 seats are. I'm 5'10" and wife is about 5'5" and we're both skinny people. For me the best seats were RX-8's tiny seats and 2003 Sentra SE-R seats were too wide for me.

I've sat in IS300 but never sat in a G35 Sedan. How are G35 stock seats for skinny people? Are they good for shorter people at 5'5".Changing seats to aftermarket won't be an option with my future wife.

Thank you.

I'm never been described as skinny, but the wife is 5' 3'' and she has no issues driving the coupe or sedan. Sedan is hers.I'm 6' and like driving both!!

Great seats. Bex is 5'8", 118 and she likes the seats fine.

I'm 6'2", 180 (but was 205 when I bought it) and I like them as well.

If anything, taller / wider people won't be as comfortable because of the side bolsters.

Do the 06 seats have the controls on the right side bolster?

Yes and the problem is the sedan and coupe vary quite a bit in the seat dept. I had to switch out to the coupe seats because I couldn't stand the flat wide seats in the sedan. Now the only real issue I then had with the coupe seats was the metal support plate in the right bolster. It became uncomfortable after long periods of driving. So I bent it out of the way and things got all better.

It's more a matter of hip dimension than height and weight. I'm 5'7" and weigh 160 lb. My wife is 5'6" and weighs 140 lb. I was comfortable in the seats of my first generation RX-7. They were too narrow for her. I suggest you find a G35 and see how well the two of you fit.

In my opinion, the G35 is a far better car than the IS300. I considered both before buying my G37S. IS300 performance falls between the BMW 330 and 325. It is slower than the G35. Because of its inefficient engine, it also gets poorer gas mileage.

^^^^ reminds me that there are differences in the 04 - 07 coupe seats!!I was looking at 05-07 coupes and the base part of the seats did not feel good to my hamstrings....The wife didn't like some of the upper bolsters on them due to them pushing her arms out. She couldn't get comfy.A low mileage 04 white coupe came in at our local Nissan dealer and it fit us both!!! Went back to get it and it had just been bought. So, I started looking for a 04 coupe and found one!Test drove several G37 Coupes and loved them all, both of us.

Test drove several G37 S Sedans and both did not like the base bolsters.Others here love them. So, you need to get out and do lots of test driving.

Thanks for the replies. I like the G35 coupe but I have to think of babies and children that would come later.I'll try out the different G seats and maybe consider putting seats from other models into the G35 sedan. I have narrow hips so most seats are too wide for me.

I'm only 5' 5" and 125 lbs but the sports seat with adjustable bolsters fit me just fine.
