Just as the topic reads, does anyone know if the Force Induction / Super Charger that Stillen sells would fit the VQ35DE motor? I believe the the motor on the 350Z/G35/FX35 are VQ35DQ motor but are the intake mounting blots the same? What makes it different? Rebuilding a lot of ford small locks in my youth, i know the Ford 289/302 are the same block just with different internals, cams, pistons, etc but overall the bolt holes for the intake and heads are the same so it was just a matter of boring out the motor, and dropping different components like crank, connecting rods, cam, etc. Does the DE and DQ the same?...same motor and mounting holes but different internals. This question maybe better answered by Stillen. I'm thinking they would know best as if it were a plug and play, it would have been offered to us 3.5 guys already. Of course there is also the matter of a cowl induction hood to fit the supercharger too

Kyle or Josh or anyone...Any and all inputs would be much appreciated! Is it just a matter of financial logistics, the cost of installation or is it something totally different?

Their is not VQ35DQ motor. Its the same motor between the 350Z, G35, FX35, Altima, Maxima. All VQ35DE's, just tuned differently. However, the STILLEN s/c will not bolt up to our motor because all of them are built for RWD models. The RWD VQ35DE has the intake plenum placed in the back to feed air into a longitudinally-mounted engine to a RWD drive train.

Our intake plenum is also placed in the back, however, it attached to a transversely-mounted engine to a FWD drive train. So, the mounting points are all off. Also, STILLEN s/c's require you to replace the hood because they are a roots style blower mounted on the top of the engine block. So with the design of a s/c from STILLEN for the altima coupe, would also require a new hood.

The guys at STILLEN and I, and even Vortech, have been over this dozens of times. They frankly just don't see a market for it. I have tried to convience them, gone over numbers, logistics, even had meetings with marketing managers at Vortech. Unless the community was strong behind this, and was willing to drop 25k on our end for production, Vortech won't be making anything soon. STILLEN has pretty much ruled out the marketing value as well, but It's not completley off the board yet. With a large enough market, we could see one at some point from STILLEN. If you remember, I tried to rally members to do this about 6-8 months ago. There wasn't a large enough interest to get anything going.

Thanks Blake, Yeah I do remember you rallying other members on this and I thought there was enough interest. I just thought that Stillen foregone the whole project because of the installation price logistics for example the cost for installing a front sway bar on our coupes. I totally forgot also the postion of the motors as well, rear wheel verses transverse. Hopefully as the coupe gets more popular, the demands will change and the other alternatives will be available to the VQ series motors.
