I have a 2007 G35 Sedan. The hood, front bumber and front quarter panels were repainted last month to repair damage sustained from a wind storm we had here in southern ca. The body shop advised not to polish the new paint for 90 days. I like to detail my car every few weeks and have avoided the newly painted area. I use Meguiar's Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax (step 3). Is it safe to use this wax on the new paint now or should I wait the full 90 days?

Any advise on this would be appreciated.

The paint needs to "breath" for at least 90 days. I would wait...I'm not a painter, but I'm sure someone will explain why.

Hi,

Paint have a cure time. They are usually say 30 days but outside temperature is a big factor in the airdry process. I would wait out the 90 days if they said so.

I used to paint cars a few years ago, I would give it a minimum of 2 months in colder weather. If it was summer, I'd say wait a month and go to town.
