My current balljoints are both blown to hell. Anyway, I got my hands on a set of new front LCAs with balljoints already pressed in. I was wonderign if i could remove these balljoints from the new arms, and then press them back into the old arms currently on my car. Would removing the balljoints from the new arms damage the balljoints at all? Or should I just order a new set of balljoints and sell one lucky Nico member bother LCAs and balljoints pressed in for a good deal?

Dude, u got the whole control arm, do half the work and just install that! Much easier than pressing out a ball joint, then pressing it in another arm. Just replace the arm!

If I can avoid removing the sway bar, I would be happy as hell. I don't feel like heating the bolt to break it. I just want the easiest route possible, since this will be done in a low key parking lot.

you will NEVER get them out, esp in a parking lot. they come with lca and ball joint together for a reason. its cheaper to buy $15 end links, plus from the sounds of it you need some help in the bushing area. and after you change the ball joints you need an alignment... fyi

Umm, just out of curiosity, why would you heat up the sway bar bolts to get them off? I must have done something wrong when I replaced my bars, 'cause I didnt use the torch. Just curious.

if they are rusty the heat causes the metal to expand, which breaks the rust. but with sway bars the bushing will melt. so its just easier to cut them in half and pull them apart.

if you have no rust then you are cool and be thankful for the fact.

Throw in the new set of LCAs. Just pick up a set of sway bar end links if you are worried. If they are rusted and this old they are probably bad and worn out.

Sway bar end links rubber seals pop. You should check them. Also those round rubber bushings get old and become flat or have crack. Replace them all at once while you are at it.
