Kind of confused... ¿?.. My ecu is for an automatic 1990 300zx na, and I swapping everything to a shift.. But I'm getting info like.."you can use the same computer for the manuel transmission even thow it's set up for an automatic".. "All you need is an upgrade" ... Wondering if this is true or not..... ???? What is the correct way to have my computer set up for a stick shift transmission?? :gotme

It's true. It's not as simple as dropping the trans and putting the new one up though. You'll need a bunch of different accessory parts, like the shifter bracket, clutch, pedals, cables, and more.

But yes, you can swap the trans and keep the Auto ECU and TCU.

There is a wiring harness you can get from wiring specialties that lets you hook a manual into an auto ecu

I got everything to do it. Like the petals, wire harness, shift plate , braided clutch line, one pease drive shaft .. Etc... But just was questioning on the computer part. Thought I have to get a manual ecu for the swap .. Might just get an upgrade on my stick then .. Thanks

You can use your auto harness, just have to wire it in to the correct wires. The manual harness you guys speak of will make it cleaner.

Also when doing the conversion, you will either need to rewire the starter relay or jumper the wires. I could never get jumper to work, so I just rewired with a different relay. Have not had an issue, I just don't have it wired through the alarm.
