I posted this over at AMS's website but never got a reply.. and only 7 views after 2 days there... so i'm asking here.

I just bought a set of KA24DE Arias pistons from AMS (.020" over) and while reading the piston info sheet I read that "Arias pistons are manufactured from either 2618 (non silicon) or 4032 (high silicon) aluminum alloy. All 4032 alloy pistons are identified by a star (*) stamped under the pin boss" The pistons I bought do NOT have the star so I am assuming that they are NON SILICON pistons?

The last set of arias pistons I bought had the star on the bottom. (they were 10.6:1 DE pistons)

another question - the spec sheet said to get the bore to exactly 3.524" or 89.51MM is that extra .01mm for the piston to wall clearance?

My machinist balanced my last set of arias piston to within 1 gram of eachother. the total weight of those pistons was 414 grams. I believe he had to remove about 7 grams at the most from all 4 pistons. Should I have him balance this set to be the exact weight as well?
