only reason i ask this is i have an msd ignition i would like to install and figure this would be the easy way out , instead of trying to wire it in internaly and frying something, but any waywould a external coil 240sx distributer fit from 91-94 240sx and plug in into a 97 240? i have ka motor by the way.

Yes, just wire it up using the ext. coil...just like an S13.

Distributor will slip right in...

This has been done before, it's easy if you have all the parts.
