Question: More Horsepower out of my KA24DE without a turbo?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

After Driving my 240SX for a number of years; I have gotten the wish for more power, still I feel that a turbo is not a solution to my power lack but just a work around.I'd like to see how many extra horses I could get increasing the engine's specs by using parts of a higher specification and increasing the power (fuel, air, exhaust output capability, etc...) input amounts in the system while keeping the ratios constant. I assume that would thereby gift me a higher power output. My question is can it be done? What would I need to do?

Please Note: Note this is conjecture for right now but perhaps I might attempt this over the summer when I have time.

There are several threads created about increasing the power of a KA24DE without the use of Turbo. Bolt-ons won't net you more than 160 at the wheel (even that is optimistic). Gains are to be had with stand-alone's for sure, but are expensive. Cams help, especially with supporting mods (IHE, etc.), as does lightened drivetrain (flywheel, shaft).Search about the KA forum and you can find plenty of threads that can help you.

Sup niccohead...well first things first..im no expert..but..i am working on a N/A build for the ka24de..so far i will be running some nice upgrades for the internals.

supertech forged 10.5:1:1 pistons....dry lube coatedsupertech cromoly rings.arp headstudsarp main studsarp rod boltsbrian crower stage 3 camsbrian crower titanium valve springs/retainers/seatstomei valve seals and guides..standard bearings for the main and rodsusing stock rods for now..

dosent look like much but after you figure in hand work and machine work you easly looking at 2k...i did the clearencing for the cams/head myself..that probly saved another 2k..this does not include ghaskets..

you can easly make good horsepower from an N/A platform...but nothing like the horsepower forced induction offers...this build is a pre build for my later turbo aplication..(when coin allows)..for now it will stay N/A ...if ya want a deeper look..follow the link below..good luck. ..
