It's just like wiring up a new stereo. However, it won't fit a 300zx. Either chassis style. That's a double din stereo. The 300zx has a crossbar in the finishing bezel on the dash on both chassis, so a double din radio won't fit. Don't you have a Z32 though? Why are you posting in classic Z?

That's a custom DD Bezel. They're pretty pricey, from $150-$300. Just read that thread you pulled that pic off of and it explains everything.

I actually just spoke to a radio-tint-alarm shop about installing a double din radio in my 94 Z. The owner is absolutely obsessed with Z's and he told me that for anywhere around $450-$550 he will remove the trim, cut the pocket out (on bottom of radio), mold it out for the radio, and install the radio flush with the dash. It wasn't a bad deal, but I don't want to have the molded look on the trim. If I were you, I'd save up a little more money, and but one of those single din radios with navi, XM, USB, and Bluetooth that have the screen tht flip up. A friend of mine used to have a Z with one of those. Looked very nice. This way you won't have to cut out the trim or anything.

^ That's what I did in my old Z. I had a Kenwood flip out. Only bad thing about that is that it'll really block the vents, but I just closed them and still had the side vents.

Why not just use your phone for Navi? Otherwise the Z-ThirtyTwo bezel doesn't look so bad at $300.

Ace2Cool, yea that's one of the defects about having one of those flip outs on the Z's. Unless it has the option to fold itself back up like an old Pioneer my brother had. Never thought it'd come in so handy! (I'm in South Florida, though, so I need all the A/C I can get!)

you could install the flip up navi system in the bottom like i did. then you wont have to worry about blocking the vents. i also like it on the bottom because i can reach it with out taking my hand off the shift knob. following the idea of interment cluster just off the steering wheel.

That's what I did, loved it. Only moved it back up in my new Z for the 300 degree DIN panel for gauges
