Question/help with head unit dvd.

This is my first post as I just got my Armada last week. Sorry if this has already been covered but I couldn't find it anywhere. 1st off I have a 2013 Platinum Armada and I was wondering if the front head unit dvdnav player is supposed to be able to receive video from the headrest units. When I put a dvd in the rear headrest unit A they play fine on both rear units. When I change the front head unit to aux I get sound but only a blue screen showing no video at all. The front unit plays just fine when I insert the dvd into the front head unit and yes I know ebrake is on and it is in park. That is until I mod it hehe (great info for that on this site btw). Please let me know if this is how it is supposed to be (dumb,dumb,dumb) or if there is a way to fix it. It is going in for some warranty work on tuesday (Popping sound in driver front suspension and rattling speaker) but we are taking it on a trip this weekend and I am not a very patient person. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

you cant see the video source in back up front on the dash display.

Any idea on how to modify this? I was thinking of doing the front DVD mod, then tapping into the av inputs in the arm rest with the DVD video out wires from screen A behind the drivers seat. I don't think this will work because as soon as you plug in only the AV (yellow wire) in the input slot, it shorts out the sound coming from the rear dvd players.
