Whenever I reach about 110 khm, there is this annoying DING DING DING sound that constantly goes off. It only happens when I get past 120. Thats like what...65-70 mph? I was thinking maybe its letting you know that your at the speedlimit or going past it? But I dunno...anyone know?

mine doesn't do that. its prolly the chime like when u leave the lights on. the the ae86 in initial d had the same thing going on. when he was speeding the chime came on. pretty funny. you might have to change ur speed sensor on the transmission harness. is it the ka or sr sensor?

I got a CA in my 240. Its pretty damn annoying listening to it. Its not to bad when you drown it out with the music but when you got people in the car and they wanna talk its really annoying.

i would just pull the cluster and look for a piezo buzzer or a small speaker or something on the PCB. just cut the trace or clip the lead, and you should fix the problem.

Well, now that I think about it...

I remembered when we were putting in the JDM cluster, there was this piece of metal, about 3in by 4 inch on the back of the cluster that wasnt there on the USDM one. We had no idea what its for and its still sittin there on the back. Could that possible be the reason?

The chime is a speed warning chime that comes on after you past a predetermined speed. Kind of like japanese equivalent of a conscience. Just take it out and disable the chime. Good luck and I hope I was of some help.
