Hey i have been trying to install my infinity kappa 10" sub and sound ordnance amp in my 2001 y33. I guess i did the same thing you did which was:

1. Run power wire
2. tap into rear speakers
3. put a small wire from turn on (remote im guessing) directly to power

but there are a couple things i am confused about.
When i dont have the amp on the sub hits (not with near as much power as it should have with my SO amp on) i guess powered by the rest of the system as it is tapped into the rear speakers.
when the amp is on as soon as i ground it pretty much all the sound just quits and gets a lot of static in it.

If you have any ideas on how to get the full power please let me know.

Thanks a lot

Evan D.

When I did this my amp had speaker level inputs, which basically means you could tap into a speaker level signal. This would then lead to the amp, which would then lead to the subwoofer.

Sounds like you have the speaker input hooked directly to the sub.

I'm going to list how I have everything wired and if you could tell me what i need to change/do that would be great!

Power Wire is wired from the amp to battery
Ground Wire is wired from amp to a grounded point
Remote Wire is wired from the remote spot directly to the power spot
The -/+ on the amp is wired to the +/- on the sub
The Sub +/- is wired from the sub +/- to the rear speaker +/- that I tapped into.

As i stated before when I am running the sub without the amp and just tapped into the rear speaker it works but obviously doesn't hit as hard as it would with the amp powering it.

And when i connect the power wire and ground out the ground wire it just kills the power of the sub/rear subs.

Can you tell me what model sub and amp you have? That should really help too.
