If the Z checks out, do it.240's are sweet, but Z32's are a rarity (SP?) these days, moreso than 240's.Turrrrbo!

I default towards Z's but I refuse to take on debt for any car, I haven't financed a car in over 10 years and never will again, don't go broke for a car especially if you have student loans and live wth your mom like so many young people, I of course have no idea of your age or situation

Seeing as how hardly anyone on here actually owns a Z32 not to many people understand them and just go buy stuff theyve "heard". So heres the thing a TT is totally reliable. The only thing that would kill you is if a turbo went out. Now if youve found a bone stock TT in Cali my guesses are its right at $10k if not a little more. You have all the service records so thats a plus. Now do your research on the car like you probably already have check the car out drive it for at least an hour. Yes that sort of test drive is a good thing to do. Now is this car easy to work on? Personally its not any harder to work on then either of my 240sx's have been to work on. Though the Z32 is much more time consumeing, so hard isnt the thing about it its just the time it take to work on it. Your call really check the Z out make sure its a good one and then comming from a guy who has owned a couple 240sx's and a Z dont listen to anyone but yourself. The decisions you make are half chance.

LOL, thanks for the replies... I knew there was more to it than, "Isn't your 240sx paid for?" and "Turbos aren't good daily drivers."

I'll keep you guys posted... thanks again for the help!

Thanks Barry'z (NJ). I've been through the Twinturbo.net FAQs more times than I'd like to admit... LOL. Same goes for 300ZXClub. You could call it an obsession. Good to know I am getting quality info there!

Well, you could do what I did and do both. I had an S13 and a 350Z for awhile. I used the S13 as a daily commuter and piled the miles on it, and used the Z as my serious fun car (track excursions, night out with the wife, etc.) I only sold the S13 because it was a 4th car. It was hard for me to justify keeping and insuring 4 vehicles. The Z will obviously cost more to operate, repair and insure than the 240, but it will probably last longer than your 240. You mentioned your 240 has almost a quarter mill miles on it. That's a lot. If you sell it you're not going to get much for it, especially if you say it will need a lot of work shortly. If you can swing both, I'd keep it. But if you can only afford keeping one, the Z might last longer for you.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I'll go down and check it out on Tuesday, and hopefully, I'll have some good news to report.
