i have 2 tens in a bandpass box and there is barely no more room in the trunk. i went to walmart and bought those straps that people use to tie things down on their trailers or truck beds. it works fine my big *** box doesnt slide around anymore at all.

just take a 1/4" sheet of plywood and cut it out to the size of your trunk, and use liquid nails or some adhesive to attach it to the metal. then you can bolt the box to that.

hm those are good ideas. yeah i have a couple tens in a sealed box. there's not a lot of room, but enough for the box to shift around sometimes.

as for the plywood thing.... would i bolt THAT to anything? =/ or just let it slide around.

He did say use liquid nails to glue that 1/4 wood to the metal of your trunk.

I went to Home Depot and bought a bunch of "industrial velcro" and attached one set to hold the carpet under the sub box to the floor, then stuck a few strips of just the hook side to the bottom of the sub box. They stick really well to the carpet. It's actually really secure and very quick and easy to do.

Yeah, the velcro thing worked great for me. I have 2 12" fosgates that way a $#%&load. They don't slide around anymore though.

My 10" is nice and secure in there.. its not really strapped in. i love the box too- used to have an 8" in there so its a tight sound. not bad for $300 walmart sub and amp. look at http://www.cardomain.com/id/s13wannabdrifter for pics

just use the rubbery material that u use to put under carpets so that they wont slide around on floors. i've seen that stuff selling under subs section to prevent demaging ur box in the trunk.just stick a piece under the box and u're set

my box was just painted, and slid around so much, so i took a carpet sample and stapled it to the sub, it slides very little now, but is a great improvement from before, and totall cost was like $2.00

If you remove the spare tire and the carpeting in the rear you dont need ply wood or anything.

Just use some all-thread and some nuts to suspend the box above the metal and drill right through to the bottom of your car and mount it right like that. The plywood can deaden the sound so you cant hear it thump as much...

Never heard of that... but bolting your hardware down is a good idea anyway.

If you check your owner's manual, you'll see there are two bolts in the floor of the hatch (about 6 inches from the back) on either side designed to hold child safety seats. These are ideal: bolt a plank of wood to the two of them and then use L brackets to secure your box to the wood.

If you are creative enough, you can actually get the wood and brackets hidden (for the most part) by the carpeting.

Here's a link to how I bolted in my old bandpass 10 x 2 box. I've since upgraded to a slotted 12 x 1, but hopefully it'll give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

EDIT: Nismo.org doesn't like hotlinking, so the link above is to a dummy page. Be sure to click on the "CLICK HERE" link... located just under the junk banner on top.
