Hi, im looking into purchasing a 97-98 240sx, for the sole purpose of doing the RB25DET swap. Now, being new to the 240 world. I thought i found a good site to get started - Night7racing.com. After doing some research and people's responses, i think will stay away from them. So the question is:

Where have you guys bought your RB clips from? How is the quality?

Right now McKinney Motorsports is looking ilke the place to go.

thanks for your time.

I got mine from Ryan at RS Imports in Seattle, he was great to deal with and when I had a problem he came through for me. It took a few months to import another engine to get a new head from, but he paid for the engine and I just paid for the shipping.

There are 2 others who bought engines from him also, look on http://www.240sxforums.com for a guy with the handle "Dekand" and also "dawhiz" got his there. Ask about their experiences.

Ryan is the man.

I did have a great experience with them, and would buy from them again.

I don't have experience with RS imports, but I have seen some pics of clips from people who bought from them, and they were the cleanest, most complete clips I have ever seen.

Good luck with your swap!!

How much is a fair price? I would only be interested if it was a great price, because red is not what im looking for.

well im not even gonna give you a number then. my car would easily sell for 9K with the KA in it so add in what you think the RB with mods are worth.

There are several white ones on http://www.autotrader.com. 10K range for most of them. So if you are hard set on white, there you go.

already checked... a high percentage of them are autos.. and i dont feel like takin the extra time to convert to a 5spd.
