I have a 2009 sedan, 2.5 with manual transmission. A couple months ago, the clutch master cylinder was replaced under warranty by the dealer. I recently noticed on this hose coming out of the brake fluid reservoir (which I'm pretty sure is what feeds the clutch master cylinder), there's no hose clamp. Common sense would indicate that there should be a hose clamp here.

So, on a car that hasn't been messed with, is there in fact a hose clamp there? If so, what type? I would guess it's probably the "spring" type of hose clamp (just a metal band that stays on by its own tension).

Another question in the same general area...There's this brass fitting that looks like some kind of bleeder valve:

It connects to this coiled pipe, which seems very strange to me

The coiled pipe and brass fitting look to not be connected to the clutch system. What is it? Brakes? Power steering? Something else?

I was curious about that coiled pipe thing too. A buddy of mine believes it's for the brakes...that's about all I can tell you.

I'm pretty sure the coil thingy is for the brakes, I remember I messed with it a little bit while installing my intake and if you loosen the bolt on top of the coils brake fluid comes out. Not a good thing to do...

Yeah, that's what the strange coiled pipe is. I went to the parts department, and here are their diagrams for the clutch system:

Back to my original question, I'm still not sure whether Nissan originally put a hose clamp where I've got the green circle on the first pic. The dealers I went to don't have any similar M/T cars right now. No clamp shown in the diagrams from the parts dept. Anyone with a M/T got a minute to look on your car, and see whether there's a hose clamp there?
