Hey mack do you guys sell your custom X-member on its own? Do you have prices and specs (how far down and back it places motor compared to r33 X-member)? I think lots of people here would be interested.

yeah I am interested, but its not worth getting unless I know that it will sit the engine in the stock height, and have enough clearance over the sway bar, but also good front and back clearance.

I can t answer for the measurements but was just there today looking at a rb in a s13 with thier kit and it looked good. I dont know if it is in the exact stock location but it was sitting low enough to clear without any cutting of the hood frame and it cleared everthing on the bottom side that i could see. I will know for sure at the end of next week after they finish my install then I can post for sure facts about it. From the pics I have seen on the net it definatly sat lower than them. But like I said I will know for sure soon.

Thanx hashiriya13,

Once I get the cooler in the swap will take about 2 days......

Anyway, Everything clears fine. I'll try to get some specs for you and I'll measure my stock 240 engine placement and compoare it to the RB.

Here is a pic of my other 240 with the RB in it. DAm it, didn't wotk. Just go to the section that says, New turbo and manifold and there is a good front shot of the engine placement.

Hope it comes out.

Also, here is a briefcase you can look at. It has pics of the kits in a S13 and S14. Plus, other stuff.

If anyone likes the sidemount cooler kit, Let me know. I am going to be making copys soon.

Thanx,Grumpy

piping length would be the same if you used a top-bottom intercooler.

The adapters for the stock crossmember with custom mounts and custom rear crossmember with GM style trans mount are available as a swap kit ; see the sale page on the web site http://www.mckinneymotorsports.com

Mack @ Mckinney Motorsports

P.S. we thinking of including the Greddy intake with our complete swap. WE already include the FMIC What do you think????????

I want the engine to sit at or close to stock height becuase, I dont want to cut into the hood any and if it sits to high it will mess up the suspension geometry from to much weight being to high. I just want to do it right the first time so I wont have to mess with it later.

The mount kit sits the motor low enough to clear the hood with the stock manifold. NO CUTTING OF THE HOOD!

I THINK, cutting the hood looks Getto. This is why we designed a kit so that you don't have to cut anything.

You can see how the motor sits in the briefcase link in my previous post. In the folder labeled "My rb s13" The pictures labeled MOSSY. You can see the stock set up and no hood cutting. Some more pics in the folder too of the stock intake setup.

I am thinking of making a post about "Pros and Cons" of the mount kit and crossmember install. What do you guys think. This is not to make one style or shop better then another. Just to give everyone the correct info and let the customer make the decision on which style they would like to do.

Let me know if this would be a good topic and maybe a Sticky.

personally i'll take cutting the hood over a 300$ hit in the wallet+more effort.

Our kit bolts to the stock KA front crossmember with adapters and new custom mounts and a new rear crossmember and rear mount...The kit lower the motor as much as posible and centers the shifter in the orginal shifter hole..Yes the kit is a another expence , but we feel if you want the motor low as possible for w/b its worth it...The stock RB cross are fine if your just doing the swap on a budget. Nights car looks fine and is a good alternative to using the kits from us or Unstable...

... also a good idea! :) I think you would find that would help a lot of people that are trying to make decisions. Personally, I would pay the money for a motor mount kit just to have a "clean" installation, ..... but some people like to do it the cheapest way possible, ... I just don't agree with that view.

Keep up the good work, ... you have some interested people out here in Hawaii. ;)

Grumpy, did you Greddy intake manifold come polished? My friend recived his last month, but it was plane as jane and alittle rough on the inside. He sent it out to get polished inside and out. Also, the Greddy emblem/sticker wasn't on it either, but it had the cut out (like the S13 manifolds).

Fast_Datsun, have you guys ran the 510 as yet? Also, what engine management are you guys using? I too have a 71 w/sr20det (S13), but it doesn't look as pretty as yours;). So far we just made the brakets and mounts, and just fired it up (to make sure everything was ok).

I just ordered a few parts this week, so we should be taking the motor apart really soon(just need to get a few projects out of the way first).

We had the Greddy intake for the RB polished...

The 510 has a SDS stand alone.. I'm waithing on the money to finish the 2.4 motor ($$$$$$) WE may try some runs on this motor in July to do final chassis checking, but the Buck's are not there yet for the full race motor. OUTLAW class has gotten fast and unless I change to the RB I would need the SR change 2.4ltr to just make the show..
