Question for anyone here...PLEASE ANSWER

hey guys i have a 93 j30 and i ususlly put in 94 octane fuel into it ...the station thet i get the 94 octane from was sunoco and recently shut down so i've been putting in 91 octane from petro canada or about a week now...my engine recently started shaking as if it were running on 5 cylinders or an injector was bad...which i hoped that it wasnt because i've had to change one befor and the cost was a pain in the a$$...so i drained all the 91 octane gas and then filled up with 94 octane and drove out about half the tank then the shaking stopped....was this problem caused by the octane of fuel? or am i in for another pain in the a$$ co$t

sounds like octane. our cars usually wont take anything less than 93 octane so if you are using 91, then thats not good. was the shaking really bad?

Our cars were made to run on 91 as that is all some in the United States can get.

It still could've been an octane problem. Maybe it wasn't really 91?

yeah i always use 94 octane except for that week .....and yea the shaking was really bad at idle not really past 2000rpm.....but all is better now and im soooo releaved

I have a Infiniti 94 J30 with 158K miles. The engine lights came on recently and now the car has started shaking even when idling / redlights. The ride has become rough. Anyone have any ideas what's happening?

I don't have an idea but your car's engine does. If you have a check engine light, there is a reason why. Read the post stickied at the top of the forum on how to read your car's codes.

must be a bad luck with particular station/fill up... I put mostly Petro Canada 91 and so far so good .

Our cars are designed for 91 fuel I even put 89 during the last gas crisis in Ontario half a year ago, remember ? and it was running good.
