My AC is not working correctly, took it to the dealer they said that there was an aftermarket alarm installed and uninstalled before i bought it.They said that the AC sensor or something like that was never plugged back in so now there's no in-between temperature either hot or cold. They want $120 flat rate and $60/hr for 2 hrs sounds outrages, anybody have experience with this?

Thanks in advance.

Yes I've had a similar experience. My daughter purchased a new Honda in California. She wanted an alarm in the car & it came with one. What she wasn't told by the dealer was that the alarm was installed not by the dealer but was installed by an independant alarm installer.A few years later when back on the east coast, there was a recall on the ignition switch. The Honda dealer would not replace the ignition switch for free under the recall because of the aftermarket alarm that was wired into the ignition switch.I have had a considerable amount of horror stories using independent shops. Many of these shops charge hourly rates just slightly less than the dealer but many have poorly trained people.I would return to the dealer and slip the service writer $20 and ask him to take care of the guy that is going to work on your vehicle. Perhaps he might he be able to work a little faster? Even if you have to suck up the $120 they will remember you and take better care of you next time.Anyone that does any kind of electronic work does not enjoy trying to figure out what someone else did or $ucked up. Just my opinion and $.02

Good luck

Do you see any plugs not plugged in or wires sitting out?

dealers will charge you a "diagnosis fee" for looking at a car if the problem turns out not to be warrantable. Thgis flat fee is probably that as the diagnosis fee can be put towards the actual repair if you have the work one with them. At least, this is my experience with dealerships.

What I don't understand is, when I complained about the problem they looked at it and told me that the AC sensor was not pluged in and those are the fees for the job, from what the service manager told me it sounded like it's just a matter of just plugging it into something. I've tried looking for any loose wire with no luck anybody know where this is at or where the ac unit is located.
