How much did you all spend on your CA18DET swap or SR20DET swap? I have 2000.00 bucks. Would this be enough for any kind of motor swap?

You can get an CA18 and RB20 swap done for 2K or under. It would be a stretch though. A BIG one. That is doing the labor yourself and getting a cherry engine. However, with the price range you have, you would have to go to the bottom dwellers of quality IE Venus auto or flashoptions or racing hard. With only 2K, you leave NO room for error. Need a new clutch....damn you are ****ed. Need a new turbo...damn you are ****ed. Hopefully in this situation you have our own tools and a friend with a cherry picker. To rent thos is like 25-35 bucks a day. Again sure you can get it for one day but then you are rushing and leaving no room for error. To risky. I say save more money. When I got my swap, I totaled up the cost and got a loan for that amount plus a littel extra. My total swap on my RB20 came to 2700. I paid a NICO memeber money for help and the use of his tools. So that was in there too. All my exspenses for just swap related stuff was 2200 and that was NOT replacing the clutch/flywheel, timing blet, headgasket and other stuff you should at least take a look at before puttign that thing in

Don't mean to hijak...but it was either this or post another thread...

I'm considering doing an S14 blacktop with a front mount and all the goodies for ~ $5200. I paying for labor and dyno tuning too. Does this sound like a good price. It's the best price that I've seen around town and I trust the guys who will be performing the swap.

Opinions would be appreciated.

since phase2 doesn't carry the rb20 or ca, where would you get them from if not venus? they seem to be the best choice for those engines.

I don't know anything about them. My friend found this place and I thought that it might be noteworthy.

I don't see where these guys do SR swaps. That's gonna cost more.
