What are the RPMs on your pathfinder when running at 100kph or 60mph?

my 01 pathfinder is running about 2250rpm under no load at that speed, just wondering if this is totally normal or not.

Automatic or 5-speed?

Sounds about right, maybe a tiny bit low....

Ah. Yeah, these "newfangled" import motors spin up a lot higher. It's not even close to working hard at that RPM.

at 70mph err 115kph its about 3000rpms with a 5 speed. out gearing is really nice though at 4.636 or others (4.325, 4.363, 4.9xx) jeeps and some other v8s have like 3.51s or 2.73s so its perfectly normal

is it possible to change the gearing so that it revs lower, hopefully increasing fuel mileage.

good luck trying to find of 4.10 gears. NOT a clue in the world why youd want higher geears though...you can probably pick up a set of 4.363 drop ins...but its honestly not worth the cost and pita to install for like 1mpg better.

4:10 gears gives a better 0-60 time but it also increases fuel mileage(probably not to much), but i agree its not worth it.

2250 going 60 mph is normal if you have 4.636 gears. if you really want it to be at a lower rpm at that speed get 4.363s. i have a fairly new 3.3 with 4.3s and i can cruise at 60 mph at 2k rpms and 75 mph at 2400 rpms.
