I'm trying to find out who here on NICO is MEVI equipped. To those that have it equipped, what RPM switch are you using and when does yours open? I'm using the Summit switch, but it doesn't open until 5500 RPMs and thats a tad too late. How are you guys getting around that? TIA

Hal should be back in town in the next few days, and IIRC he has the MEVI. Sorry I'm no help.

Hi there,

I found 5200rpm was my best crossover, but I never tested it as much as I could have..

With the summit rpm switch, it was not as easy as just setting the rpm I wanted... and I was frustrated at first. Then I realized how easy it was.

Seems like everyones is calibrated to a different amount, but I found a very easy way to do it.

Get it somewhere near where you want (you are close enough at 5500) and then there is a screw on the inside for fine tuning. With the fine tune, I can adjust mine like 2000rpm haha. Just turn it left and right and watch where it changes. Luckily you have lights on the summit switch, so you can just sit in the car and rev it up/down and see where it is set to

Good luck - hope that helps

MEVI might be my next mod, depending on a few things

It's definitely worth it! I think my next mod needs to be the ECU. I still need to track down a 95-96 5 speed ECU and then the 6 week wait from JWT.

doesn't the lack of low-midrange tourque leave you wondering if you made the right decision, or does the power up top make up for it?

cullen, I have a used-repairable one (I already have the part numbers and prices...err, did) you can buy for cheap :) if you want to do a little bolt turning on it to save some dollars.

Would the JWT do any good if I am still NA?

IMO the top end power is worth it. I really did not feel a big loss in midrange power with the MEVI.

Yes, with or without the MEVI, the JWT ECU is a great mod for NA applications.

Steve: Thanks for the info.
