Post

Hi guys, after i did some research over the internet. i still not fully understand about it
i just bought 2012 rogue S 3 months ago and i love it! however, i wanna install

ROOF
- will 09/10 model's roof rail from the auto-recycle fit 2012 S model?
- if i get the rails from auto-recycle what els do i need? the molding something?
- should i take my car to the dealer to install? since i am still under the warranty?

AUDIO
- should i buy the used indash oem moniter h/u(the one from special edition) to replace my stock h/u (i have 4 speakers) or should i just buy the aftermarket one instead? are they easy to swap?
ps. i dont really the more speaker just the any indash-monitor would be enough

REMOTE START
- since this is my first time owning a AWD vehicle, is it hard to install by myself? or i shouldnt mess with it and take it to the shop (i used to install the remote start for my previous scion tc before)

Any input from you guys would be greatly appreciated ince you guys seems handy in the forum :)
thanks guys

if you take everything off the donor car, you wont need anything else. maybe id suggest getting some fresh new weather striping. that crap rips on the way out all the time.

you dont have the right antenna to get XM, nor navigation. im almost positive you wont get the full effects of the newer headunit. id buy the aftermarket instead because with the right wiring harness, that will work for sure.

awd or a 10wheel-drive m35 "deuce and a half" army truck - makes no difference when installing a a remote starter. i never installed one, but would suggest you not experiment with the smart key if you have one, and take it to a shop. remote starts if installed wrong will lock up your ignition thus rending the whole car useless. you will need a new key/ignition/door locks/ programming, etc. its not something i would experiment with unless it was a plug & play kit ;)

Thanks man, i just ordered roof rails from the 2009 donor car and kinda hope they would fit my car (2012 S model).

- Dealer near my house asked 275$ installation fee, is it reasonable or i should just go to auto shop (cost around 100-150$)
- How Pioneer Appradio DA01 Head-unit seem decent for you? can i still use the OEM ipod connector with this head unit or i have to run the new line?) does it hard to install by myself? :frown:
- where do you think i should get the back up cam? OEM or Aftermarket

It kinda suck without the backup cam since my GF has to parallel parking everyday and there is risk for her to hit something( she is 160cm tall) so she doesn't have much visibility on backing up. :(

Thank a lot for any input :mike i am such a newbie
